Dave Miley and ATF Declaring Conference Open

The 16th Asian Coaches Conference took place in Bangkok last week (7-10 Nov) in the Rama Gardens Hotel.165 coaches from 23 countries participated in the 4 day conference and expressed positive feedback about selected presentations and organization.

Dave Miley and Mr. H.E. Suwat Liptapanlop, President of LTAT, announced the conference open in a nice opening ceremony followed by Miley’s presentation on Development. Keynote speakers included: Mark Kovacs (USA) and Max de Vylder (BEL) who focused their presentations on: Tennis 10’s programs coaching, Technique and Movement for specific strokes.

Other experienced speakers such as: Craig Morris (AUS), Warren Pretorius (USA), Gustavo Luza (ARG), Ivan Molina (ITF), Alex Cuellar (ESP) and Greg Crumb covered topics on Kids’ programs, Mental and Physical training, Touring, Wheelchair Tennis and Video Analysis.

The Asian speakers, Suang Chantra Uri (THA), Hayato Sakurai (JAP) and Suresh Menon (ITF), shared their experience about mental training on court, preparing for clay on hard-courts and training camps.

6 hours of presentations were conducted daily on court and in the lecture room, with Q&A sessions taking place at the end of each day. Certificates were given to each of the participants by Mr. Suwat and Mr. Anil Khanna, from LTAT, in the closing ceremony on the last day.

LTAT hosted the opening and closing dinner for all participants’ coaches and speakers with musical and dance programmes performed. Organized touristic trips to the exciting city of Bangkok also took place.
